  • Personal Details: Name, date of birth, gender, religion, caste, mother tongue, marital status.
  • Contact Information: Mobile number and email address (used for login and communication only).
  • Profile Information: Education, occupation, annual income, height, weight, eating habits, and personal description (About Me).
  • Photos: Profile photos and gallery images you voluntarily upload.
  • Family Details: Father's name, mother's name, family type, number of siblings.
  • Partner Preferences: Age range, preferred religion, caste, education, and location.
  • Usage Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, login timestamps — used for security and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To display your profile to other registered members based on compatibility and search filters.
  • To send you match recommendations, notifications of interests received, and service updates via email or SMS.
  • To verify your identity and prevent fraud.
  • To process payments for Premium memberships securely.
  • To improve our platform through anonymised analytics.

3. Who Can See Your Profile

  • Your profile (name, photo, age, location, education) is visible to all registered members.
  • Your mobile number and email address are only visible to Premium members after you accept their interest.
  • You can hide your profile at any time from Settings → Privacy. Hidden profiles are removed from search results.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission.
  • Encrypted storage for sensitive personal information.
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing.
  • Strict access controls — only authorised staff can access user data.

5. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share limited information with:

  • Payment Processors: Razorpay/Stripe for transaction processing (they do not receive profile details).
  • SMS/OTP Providers: Exotel for sending OTPs and SMS notifications.
  • Cloud Storage: Google Cloud Storage for secure photo hosting.
  • Law Enforcement: When legally required to comply with court orders or government requests.

6. Data Deletion

You may request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by:

  1. Going to Settings → Account → Delete Account, or
  2. Emailing care@vivahshaadi.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request".

All data will be permanently deleted within 30 business days of request confirmation.

7. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to analyse site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect site functionality.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of VivahShaadi after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
